Strengthening the National Public Broadcasting Service
In the framework of the National Public Broadcasting Company program priority, the Foundation advocates for and promotes the values inherent in a Public Broadcasting Service (such as program quality, diversity, cultural identity, the integrity of civic communication, maintenance of standards, etc.) that relate to the content and characteristics of program output.
The program aims to contribute to the development of transparent democratic procedures which correspond to provisions of national legislation and recommendations of the Council of Europe on improving radio and TV broadcasting service and national legislation in the domain, strengthening the public radio and TV broadcasting service. All of the above mentioned can be attained by forming partnerships between public broadcasters and the civil society, drawing mechanisms of public control over public broadcasters, improvement of radio and TV program and news content, raising awareness on issues identified during monitoring.
