Public Health
The Public Health Program’s mission is to advance health and human rights of marginalized persons through building the capacity of civil society leaders and strong involvement of NGOs in health policy development.
The program goals are: 1) to support the development and implementation of health related policies committed to inclusion and human rights in identified specific fields, 2) to build sustainable organizations and strengthen civil society leadership.
Three core strategies will be used to advance the program mission and goals: 1) advocacy, 2) capacity building and 3) grant making.
In 2010 the following initiatives/programs will be supported:
- Law and Health Initiative
- Palliative Care Initiative
- Mental Health Initiative
- Harm Reduction
- Health and Media Initiative
Activities under the Health and Media Initiative will focus on civil society capacity development in media communication under Mental Health Initiative.
