Think Tanks’ Cooperation for the Societal Security

Summary: An initiative for analysts and researchers in Moldova, Romania and Ukraine aiming to evaluate threats to societal security in Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine and to identify common approaches and specific solutions for Romania, Moldova and Ukraine based on EU experience. It envisaged opportunities for developing an assessment of the mechanisms, necessary reforms and updates to ensure societal security in Moldova and Ukraine, utilizing Romania’s position as a member of the EU. The public policy paper developed through the joint effort of the trilateral expert team was presented publicly in Chişinău, Bucharest and Kiev to relevant authorities and civil society representatives. The final roundtable held in Chişinău offered an opportunity to discuss about new societal security threats that appeared in the region after the Georgian events of 2008.

Summary: An initiative aiming to strengthen collaboration among NGOs, LPA representatives and local employment officials to facilitate communication and coordination of joint activities for a sustainable youth career building and youth employment; to analyze the legal framework of youth employment and job placement; and develop recommendations for the areas that need improvements; to analyze opportunities to reduce unemployment and increase job inclusion among youth; and to identify new tools and methods to meet the challenges of a globalized job market.
Acceleration of Societal and Economic Transformation of the Republic of Moldova

Summary: An initiative of local civil societies aimed to provide regional and local self-governing bodies in Moldova with know-how in regional economic development and infrastructure (industrial zones) using methodologies developed in the Czech Republic in industrial zone development programs in 90s and to stimulate new economic activities in Moldova that could contribute to creating new jobs and opportunities for local community development and sustainability.
Productive Learning: An Alternative to Traditional Education

Summary: A project designed for experts in education reform from Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova aimed to enhance the quality of cooperation among educational experts in their efforts to support processes of development of educational methodologies; to promote a new concept in the educational field for young students with disabilities in order to respond to their educational needs and interests and to compare models of Productive Learning curricula developed in participating countries.
