Targeting high-risk and hard to reach populations affected by TB

The “NGO Small Grants’ Program: Targeting high-risk and hard to reach populations affected by TB” project is implemented by the Public Health Department, financed by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, through the PAS Center.

Implementation phase: January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020.

The project aims to support the main priorities of the National Program for Tuberculosis Control (NTP), namely, MDR-TB management and treatment adherence, promoting a multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary patient-centered approach.

The project promotes civil society and community involvement as an essential component of overall success in combating the epidemic and achieving TB control objectives.

The project supports the involvement of non-governmental actors and communities in TB control through the implementation of activities aimed at increasing adherence to TB treatment, facilitating TB early diagnosis and better access to information and education activities for people affected by TB and hard to reach groups (people who use psychoactive substances, including alcohol, injecting drug users, the homeless, migrants, prisoners, ex-prisoners).
